I'm interested in where we are with these developments because EVERYTHING is moving so quickly. And the whole locations thing - I really should have included that in more detail in this post. That's exploding like nobody's business.

But I think I was wrong on the Google Buzz thing...what do YOU think?

Great round-up!

I just don't get virtual goods. Why would you ever pay money for nothing? Make a snapshot of that cute little kitten and email the damn jpg! :D

I really liked the article. There is so much out there right now it's hard to stay on top of all of it. I own a real estate software company so with all of the daily duties, it would be another full time job to stay up on all the news. Thank you for simplifying it.

Hmm...interesting observations...

I don't think MySpace will go away but possibly morph into something else. The customization is definitely a huge step up on FB but they have such a large user base (different than FB) that it would be a crime for it to go bye bye. I don't use it myself but it does have its strengths.

Virtual Goods will improve and grow and even move over into mobile!

Casual gaming has the hearts and minds of the folks with the dough! I concur on this!

Twitter NEEDS to continue to evolve because it ain't there yet...

Niche networks - I concur!

Augmented Reality - still too far off to matter right now, but I like where your mind is!

Google Buzz - still not sure I even get it??

Mobile is here, there and everywhere!! I concur!

A few more trends for your list...

Socially aware objects. CES was full of gadgets that connect to your social network and onlife. Model angels with wings that flap when your friends go online. Pandora stereos. Skype televisions. A counterpart to the augmented reality trend, with real things imbued with information from the virtual world.

Talkification of the web. Sites are building Skype-like features into their experience. Presence, text-chat, voice-chat, even video chat. Realtime conversation is no longer for customer service. It's the addition of increased social peripheral and easy access to more intimate encounters.
