Not only can you check google trends for Actionscript, you can also check it for Adobe AIR which of course uses Actionscript, that is showing a marked increase.

I agree that flash on the web can be really annoying if its not used correctly. It has its place and when used correctly its great.

More Actionscript developers are moving to Adobe AIR now to use their existing skils, expect to see lots of apps for Android now that Adobe AIR will run on these tablets.

Flash on the web is on the decline but certainly Adobe technologies on Internet devices are not. I also think that browser based technologies are on the decline and that takes flash with them, tell me how long you think HTML5 will last as we stop using browsers and aggregate our data through other means?

I think flash has hurt a lot of people because it was so readily accessible to the masses, anyone could knock up a flash app. True actionsctipt developers have learned to master strict OOP approaches and develop solid app frameworks.

Flash may have had its day but Adobe based development has not.

Yes, Flash is dying.

Just use 'google trends' to get the proof.

Try 'actionscript' instead of 'Flash' because the discussion about Flash is to big.

When looking up global interest in 'actionscript' you really see into the minds of former flash developers (and designers who need flash actionscript help) - they start abandon it.

there is one thing that apple is reeeeeealy good at. and that is dieing. they did it once, they will do it again. at least now they have a heavy marketing campaign, and more then one product but they do as the always done, underestimating the competition. if nokia, microsoft, google, amd, intel,... name a few, decides that it is time then it will be time.

those are the kind of companies (maybe google not) that are stacking technology for the future. that means that they have technology that can make today's devices look like stone tools.

apple is using some of these companies for hardware, and for software they don't really have anything less then 30 year old at the core (maybe anti-aliasing,..). so, unless they buy something, they are doomed.

adobe is kind of a company that is pushing the limits.

on processor usage, those 2 million developers are pushing, so there is no miracle if a mac just can't handle something as fast and as now-days considered light-weight as flash.

apple will never break the corporate boundary so there is no way it will be taken serious. apple for me is like Chinese plastic jewelry. no real value, what so ever, just a few heads turned around.

are you out of your mind or you are just doing viral marketing???

AJAX acronym = asynchronous JavaScript and XML, IT’s the painful past. asynchronous was used by java applets, JavaScript and XML are 20 years old, and i don't thing you have any portfolio to back up your claims, because you are just a marketing tool.

80% of click based games work without the 20min optimisation for touch devices. the rest needs additional input, like rollover, ...

the perfect tool for gaming will still remain the Windows PC doesn't matter if web or desktop. even consoles are having trouble macing that.

Well, Apple's old technology is somehow different than everyone else's old technology I guess. After all, OS X built on UNIX, an OS from the 60's, and Quicktime is from the 80's.

Ha! Apple is full of it. It is becoming more obvious every day.

One big question: If apples website is designed to the new web standard with HTML5, CSS and JavaScript and they say H.264 is the new video standard for the web, then why does APPLES website still require QuickTime?

Talk about unstable...

Causes my computer to crash a lot when I use it, FireFox disables it all the time because it has problems (until a new version comes out the then the cycles starts all over again).
