I think that a lot of people don’t realize how much damage old electronics do when not properly recycled. This is a great solution, but the problem is a lot bigger than most people think. http://thegreenertruth.com/2010/02/what-do-you-do-with-your-old-electronics/

I would be concerned that this might be an easy way for thiefs to cash in on electronics that they snag. This could also mean that people could get their property back, but it could encourage an increase in thefts if the cash incentive is higher than reselling electronics on a black market.
