Exclusive deals aren't necessarily bad, if they bring us more choice. For instance, it's possible that Amazon is willing to publish an author who otherwise wouldn't have been published, because they have the exclusive. Maybe the deal will be like Kindle-only for 1 year, then Hardcover, then paperback, kind of the reverse of what they do now. One of my favorite TV shows, Friday Night Lights, does this. It's "exclusive" on Dish for about six months, before it hits tv. That saved the show.

I, for one, am upset that Game Change is delaying its Kindle launch. I see no reason for it.
