With OS 4.0, you should be able to use a bluetooth keyboard that should be compatible with the iPad as well, but is not the docking keyboard.

I don’t see myself switching away from my current laptop or desktop to for the iPad. The iPad’s main appeal to me is its portability and on-the-go convenience with a nice screen size. I would say the official Apple accessories and cases pale in comparison to the creative ones that have emerged independently. I would suggest the large selection of cases and skins at iPad cases as a starting point.
