27" IMAC bought in January is fried. It locks up on boot. Have tried all company directed remedies, to no avail. It did boot up one time over the past 72 hours (why?,I don't know) I am now waiting for the Apple Dr. to make a house call. It's very disheartening to spend so much on what I thought was the Creme de la Creme of computing, only to find out it's probably a Creme de la lemon!!

I just opened and unpacked my new quad core i7 and started it up... the most disheartening disaster I've had with an Apple product. Screen flicker? Are you kidding? How about screen flicker intermittent acid trip! It's a total f'n joke, I cannot believe it, and I need it for a project asap. Then, the fan noise is completely absurd, absolutely maddening... as I started to try a data migration from my 24" iMac, the fan got even louder, the screen flickered digital garbage, completely obliterating the desktop... after an hour of that total utter crap, I shut it down and now must spend an entire day running to a store, sending emails, making calls blah blah blah. What a mess they've made. The new iMess.

Just returned my iMac. Worked for a week and then would not boot. After an hour and a half on the phone with Tech Support, they said to return for replacement, but they would not ship until they got the return back. I could not wait on the turn around, so I am returning for a refund. Makes no sense, they already have my credit card number, but would not even try to keep a customer happy. Back to my PC's and MacBook Pro, I go.

You don’t have to have facts when you are a consumer who has just spent $2000 on a brand new high-end computer on to get it home and find that the hard drive makes more noise than my 5 year old vaio. That fact is that people do NOT just go out of there way to return goods that they were excited to purchase and then write about it for No reason.

I am a huge Apple fan, but sorry, there is no smoke without fire!

Does 5 bad units out of 110 make it okay??? Do you buy a new car and 5 out of 100, the brakes don’t work? Is that okay?

Had the same exact issue (dead pixel in center of screen) with my first 27" imac that I purchased on 1/1/10. Still have been debating on trying again as I returned it the very next day.
