That's correct. ISPs have been bundling antivirus for years. ESPN360 is basically forced on providers who want to license ESPN channels for their video/tv products.

Raj - This is new for Comcast. You may have been paying separately for Norton, but now you'll get Norton included in your high-speed Internet service for no additional fee. Go to www.comcast.net/security, log in and download it. Takes just a few minutes. I did it this morning over my first cup of coffee.

As soon as I have the opportunity, I plan on canceling the $10/month charge on my Comcast high-speed internet bill. 16 mbps + powerboost up to 20 mbps? And an increase in the modem lease from $3 to $5 per month? What is all that about? The modem is more than 30 months old. And they have made my local HD channels - including my TV's built-in Guide - disappear from my bare cable.

Perks? All I see is a money pit.

Comcast has been offering Norton Anti-virus free for years (at least in my market, Portland) with a broadband subscription. You might want to check with them why they are claiming this is new...

In the UK broadband rates seem to be so much better than the US. I pay £17.50 (Approx 28 $) per month for a unlimited 20Mbps connection with 802.11N router and I get McAfee Internet suite (Anti-virus + firewall + all other crap) for 5 machines.
The service levels are damn good and never had an issue.

I would like to see my ISP automatically upgrade me to their higher speed package (that corresponds to my existing payment)
example: I pay $49.95 mo. for 7mb. When they increase their speed offering to $49.95 mo for 10mb. I should get automatically upgraded...but I don't. I need to periodically check their offerings and when I see a new speed offering...then I have to call them!
as far as the Norton freebie...I haven't yet found a need for it on Linux.
