Behavioral and contextual ad targeter Triad Digital Media has raised a “significant growth capital investment” from affiliates of H.I.G. Ventures, the companies said. Greg Murtagh, CEO and founder of Tampa, Fl.-based Triad Digital, and President/COO Roger Berdusco, also provided some funding for the round. The amount was not disclosed, though it probably was fairly large, since HIG primarily invests in late stage companies. (A rep for HIG told paidContent the amount was in “the double digits.”) This was Triad’s first institutional investment. The company places targeted ads on e-commerce sites run by the likes of Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT) and Dell. Marketers’ websites have lately become a source of some concern by content publishers, as they find themselves competing for the same finite set of ad dollars. Release
