I only mentioned the Dolphin browser for Android yesterday, but our good friend Hector Gomez didn’t waste any time. He grabbed Dolphin for his Archos 5 Internet Tablet, and got busy. Hector did us all proud and shot a nice video of Dolphin running, and he sent it over for us all to enjoy. That Archos looks like a very nice little tablet, I’ll say that. Dolphin looks pretty good too, but you can judge for yourself. Thanks Hector!

  1. Nice vid Hector!

  2. Hector,

How did you get the Dolphin browser on your Archos 5. I have an A5, and I’d like to try it out, but I don’t have the Android market hack working on mine. Is there another way to access the .apk of Dolphin?

  3. @Scott thanks,

@gmich, I have installed the Android Market on my A5. I haven’t looked into if the Dolphin Browser is available in the apk. It’s very easy to install the ?Android Market on the A5. The Dolphin sure works better than the Archos browser.

  4. I would have liked to see the much-touted multi-touch working. Or is the A5 resistive touch?

    1. The Archos 5 is not multitouch capable, must be resistive.

  5. I finally found the .apk file and was able to install the Dolphin browser on my Archos 5A. I haven’t done the Android Market hack yet so I had to find the .apk elsewhere.

I love Dolphin–much nicer than the stock browser. Thanks for the tip, James, and Hector, thanks for the video.
