If you can buy it outright, then do so, which can allow you to upgrade quicker, later (hope you’ve got a good accountant and/or trust you get a good price for 2nd-hand gear on eBay).

No point waiting for the “latest” from Apple. They plan new tech years in advance. An the major part of their planning is Planned Obsolescence. Welcome to capitalism, baby!
