Does Twitter really represent the pulse of the planet and therefore Google is out of touch ?

Does 'blending' Twitter into Google search results offer any real value, or does it simply clutter a space ( search ) where these companies are looking to provide users clarity.

Recent Wired magazine on this subject :

and a demonstration this may not be the case

This headline doesn't make sense. Google incorporates Twitter information into its search results and that is the end-all of real-time search? FYI, Twitter is a REALLY tiny part of the Internet, it not the entire Internet.

Real-time search refers to indexing all the new information generated across the entire Internet in real-time, to be displayed in search results.

Let's hold the horses on hyperbole!

Yes.

Why? Because they have more money to throw around than anyone else. Plus you really can't call this stuff real time until they integrate more context such as "Who, What and Where". With that you can deliver real time data. Up until then it's just more aggregated (unverified) search.
