While many online video platform companies have been in the market for a decade, or come to it after Plan A didn’t work, Ooyala is the rare white-label video upstart that’s been built from the ground up to better power video management, delivery and monetization. The company inspires accolades from customers, partners and competitors alike, and its product additions — for instance, a new live video streaming feature — are right in tune with the market. However, competitors like Brightcove, Move Networks and thePlatform already own a lot of the customers in this space. While Ooyala is building an impressive list as well — including Warner Brothers, Wenner Media, Fremantle, Armani, Sybase and Electronic Arts — the next step for the company will be snagging some bigger-name clients.
