Im just loving the fact that these cars will save the enviroment in these parts. It would be a change for me seeing a car plant in these parts. Im from Michigan and the good jobs are very rare these parts. Looking forward to even applying and hoping for employment in being a part of history. Good Luck and Welcome.

Wow thats great news that their will be at appears at least 5 major players in the hybrid vehicle market.
I personally think Hyundai will out shine everyone because they use LiIon polymer technology and Ive heard diesel engine hybrids(which many will use) however their compact car drive out cost and warranty will make them a super competitive manufacturer starting in 2010.

Thanks for the heads up, Brian. I've updated the post with today's comments from GreenTech. The 250,000-car goal wasn't mentioned in the release (it focuses on the Phase 1 plans), but Wang has now said the attorney quoted in yesterday's AP story had the wrong number.

Some of the information in your story is not correct and comes from sources who do not speak for the company. The information in the press release distributed at the unveiling event today contains all the correct information. GreenTech has never claimed or planned to produce 1 million cars a year. Charles Wang, CEO of GreenTech, announced today that the company will produce 150,000 cars a year in phase one with maximum capacity of 250,000 cars a year.

Any comments related to the GreenTech business plan from anyone other than Charles Wang do not represent the company’s intentions.
