Booyah, a startup which released its first game for the iPhone and iPod touch in July, has raised $5 million in a round of funding, according to an SEC filing. The free game — the Booyah Society — lets users keep track their daily “accomplishments;” they earn badges of achievement for completing tasks, such as visiting a real-world destination, like the Golden Gate Bridge (More from our interview with CEO Keith Lee here). Reaction, so far, is so-so with the average user giving the app two-and-a-half stars. The company had raised $4.5 million in a first round from Kleiner Perkins a year ago. We’ve reached out to the company for details on this round and will update if we hear back.
