Meryl:

Thanks so much for including me on this list. As always, I learned from the others here!

My 2 favorites:

"Celebrate task completions before moving to the next task." (@shel)

“I get up a half hour earlier than I have to. Every single day. AMAZING what you can do in that first half hour.” (@skydiver)

Selective "hearing" works a treat for me. In a busy commercial digital agency (where I mostly can be found) time and attention are constantly at a premium, there are always multiple things you could do, most of them not moving you, your company or your clients an inch forward. Cut those unimportant suckers down to size, try and ignore as much as you can - go with gut instinct. I think most people, when they really think about it, know what needs to be done and what doesn't.

I'm a big believer in knowing your own excuses... and then not accepting them. I found that I had a lot of self-inflicted ways of preventing myself from getting things done - all of them sounded valid, of course, but they were just excuses that did nothing but delay or prevent me from checking things off the list. Once I recognized them... well, excuses no longer work.
