Its not easy to verify if the twitter profile is real or not. You can create realistic looking profiles. Twitter is not going to ask for your drv lic to verify you.

Thats how they are getting away with it. Also they dont have IP restrictions in place like digg.

@fritz I’ll say I’m okay with it provided an option is provided where I can ask them review and the reason if it can not be reactivated. I agree with @millionaires with any system cleansing there could be some casualties.

@Hugh I’ll like to take it as spam but from the person who joins these services because all such services I have seen take your consent before doing so.

In relation to this part, moving the boundary of that statement to other online services. Linden Research Inc. who runs the Second Life TM platform has the same issues. It is overwhelmed with multiple fake accounts, and indeed it could be perceived they actively encourage is as they request no ID to sign up for a *free* account. I wonder why there a few companies in social media whom struggle with this particular element.

The outcome is slightly different with Linden Research Inc. my opinion is their platform is on the brink of failing as they are overrun with some mass copyright and TM infringement from inworld creations that are brought and sold where players can exit USD for those products.

My opinion is Linden Research Inc. is like Pirate Bay but with virtual goods. Perhaps this is the greater problem these fake account bring. That certainly worries me.

@millionaires of genesis so what u are saying is if u use a service give it exposure among your friends circle, invest time into learning what the service does then use it and follow its development then one fine day you are just closed from using the service for no reason you are ok with it? wow then u must be having accounts on every service online since from your statement it implies tht you should have mutliple mail boxes so that you never know which one might shutdown can you imagine telling your family friends and coworkers to mail you on all email ids instead of just one?

I’ve never used uSocial so I can’t say for sure but if it’s anything like the other mass follow services they send a promotional tweet when someone first signs up and that tweet goes out to all that person’s followers and that would be spam.

Twitter is doing a good job cleaning up the spammers. Of course with any system cleansing there will be some casualties. I’ve lost many followers, and if my account is closed for an unexplained reason I know that it’s for the greater good of twitter.

As for the question you pose I am interested to see how twitter will handle their situation with uSocial.

twitter is becoming crap now
my account has been suspended
and is showing the following message

I cant understand whats the strange activity they can see from the account i am not a twitter addict but I do like ot login once in a while to check what is happening there also it shows my following count to 0 and follower count to 0 my last update was on july 21st i know people who’s accounts have been inactive since june but they can access their account

it looks like they might be cleaning up the twitterverse but in doing so they are really pissing off people
have already opened a ticket few days back no response yet they say it might take upto 30 days to respond

I am wondering if anyone else has their account suspended for no apparent reason ?
