This may not sound as outstanding if we compare with the sales of any of the iPhone releases (iPhone 3G S has reached the 1 million mark with in 3 days from release), but this will be a decent success for any other phone manufacturer other than Apple. Android is expected to increase its global mobile phone market share in coming months as multiple android based phones are expected to hit the market.

The T-Mobile G1 is indeed the Dream, and the myTouch 3G (as its known in the US) is the Magic. I apologize for the error getting past me. I have often wished that OEMs would pick a phone name and use that everywhere. It would minimize these types of errors. :)

Android phones (G1) have been available worldwide since end of 2008 (U.S, U.K)/beginning of 2009 in many other countries.

HTC G1 is known either as G1 or Dream, certainly not Magic. Magic is the second HTC Android phone, that does not have physical keyboard.

HTC has sold 1 million of G1 phones by the end of first quarter of 2009.

And FYI, while Samsung i7500 Galaxy may get to U.K. only next week, it’s already on sale in other countries, e.g. France.

Android itself is kind of a mess. Slow, terrible keyboard, different apps that only run on certain builds. Not very impressive. Google doesn’t seem to be putting a whole lot of effort into Android if you look at what has been accomplished over the last year or more.

I think you mean the T-Mobile myTouch 3G, which is known outside the U.S. as the HTC Magic.
