comics_11I am getting so much good stuff out of the Palm Pre Homebrew Apps Catalog that I find myself checking it even before I check the official Pre App Catalog. The homebrew catalog is growing by leaps and bounds, and it’s a better use of my time to check it first. There are a lot of utilities in the homebrew catalog, but as Cyndi Lauper said, sometimes you just want to have fun. Hey, us guys want to have fun, too. In that vein, the homebrew app of the day is the Comics app.

Comics is a fun app that brings a bunch of the top comics to the Pre screen every day:

  • Garfield
  • Dilbert
  • Calvin & Hobbes
  • Garfield minus Garfield
  • xkcd
  • PHD Comics
  • John & John
  • Schlock Mercenary
  • Amazing Superpowers
  • Least I Could Do
  • The Boondocks
  • Pickles
  • Penny Arcade
  • Peanuts
  • Get Fuzzy
  • Pearls Before Swine
  • I Can Has Cheezburger
  • Fail Blog

It displays them beautifully in either portrait or landscape and is operated by simply swiping on the screen. Comics is fast and fun, and that’s a good combination in my book. Or on my Pre, I should say.

  1. This seems like a great application. It has all the cartoons that I like. Too bad I have an iPhone.
