However, Twitter will almost certainly not survive in its current form. The functionality and ease of use have improved dramatically, but it is still weak in “core values,” in that the content remains rather low brow.

If there were more depth to the tweets, then there might be a way to make use of and valorize a search in Twitter, such that companies could take advantage of twitter real-time research. However, at this point, I don’t believe the current 140-char format and low grade quality of content will foster any such value.
