If your email address is the one he uses fit his iTunes account, it will send you daily updates of what he downloads. And you could agree on giving him a $10 gift card every month. That's not unreasonable. I'm 13 and I have an iPhone 3GS and an iPod touch. They are very good time killers. My parents make me pay for my own content using my debit card, but that's not unfair at all.

Huh, I'm a parent, I regularly let my 5 year old use my iPhone. I can say unequivocally my biggest concern is NOT inappropriate content (seriously? they can't get to anything bad unless you put it there or they browse to it just like anywhere else but smaller and slower and flash players don't work on it WTF, did they only talk to really dumb parents?) but rather her dropping it on something hard. But as most parents I over come the fear of device breakage for the 10-20 minutes of peace that the risk might buy me :).

Mobicip Safe Browser offers a solution for the "safe and inappropriate content" problem. It is a browser app that is designed to deliver a safe and secure Internet for school-age children on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

With strict safe search, list-based filtering, and real-time analysis, Mobicip offers comprehensive protection for Internet access. This, when combined with the parental control restrictions offered by Apple, can make the iPhone or iPod Touch virtually child-proof in that inappropriate content cannot be reached by accident, which is most often the case.

Mobicip is available for $4.99 on the App Store.

I have to whole heartedly agree. I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old. Both love my iPhone. My 3-year old, since she has been two uses it to surf Youtube (my favorites section) for the songs she likes, and browsing pictures on the phone. She also plays games like Fluff friends. My 9 month old.. well not sure why she loves it so much, but perhaps cuz she see's daddy with it all the time. She mainly likes to eat it. Biggest concern at these ages is that baby saliva will ruin the phone, or that my 3-year old will drain the battery. At times, she has gotten to videos I don't approve of so that is also a concern.
