U-verse is using Motorola’s whole home DVR technology as another option. So many options and no direct analogues – pros and cons to all and many criteria to evaluate. Moxi’s entrance fee is going to hurt them unfortunately. ReplayTV went back and forth a few times on no service fee, high price or low price, service fees. Digeo’s targetting 12-15 million digital cable customers, but TiVo only has 1.5 total and name recognition. Hm.

It’s a hack. And only available as long as those content providers allow it to continue. The Moxi Mate is less versatile than FiOS TX mutliroom DVR which remembers where you left off and also tunes live TV. Verizon’s got more games and more widgets. But I like Moxi’s visuals better, other than the progress bar. They also have better extender capabilities.

That projector camera is kinda crazy and strangely compelling. I need to read more about it. Sounds cool, but wonder if I’d really ever use it for anything.
