eBay
Senior Product Manager (current employee):
It all starts at the top and eBay is fundamentally lacking in leadership or… vision. The company is facing enormous strategic challenges, but no one has shown me a coherent (and credible) plan for addressing them.
Senior Director (past employee):
Pros: no matter what it’s become, eBay is still the place that pioneered e-commerce. There’s something to be said for that — and to the extent that you can squeeze more learning out of the heritage of the place, it’s a good place to be.
Cons: Senior management (and I mean the TOP senior management) has no clue what they’re doing. They don’t actually use the site, and spend all their time looking at data about OTHER PEOPLE who use the site. They then try to draw conclusions based on their review of that data, but since they have no visceral experience with the site, their conclusions are often incorrect in subtle ways that doom whatever initiative they’re proposing.
Customer Service Representative (current employee):
Stop outsourcing. Stop changing things on the customers so much, so fast. Stop ignoring your customers. Stop ignoring your employees… happy, well informed employees and customers do so much more for your company!

Look at EBay’s CEO Disapproval rating…almost half. Big ‘ouch!’.
I can’t decide if Steve Jobs at 91% is amazing or horrendous… The only people with approval numbers that “high” are third-world dictators.
Why can’t people just drink the Donahoe kool-aid and go along with all his and his management team’s lies.
Fearless? Seriously? These people are anonymous. Fearless would be to 1. go to the CEO and give him/ her this feedback then 2. offer to fix things and indeed do your best to fix things, failing which 3. quit. Oh wait, the economy is in the doldrums, isn’t it? The fearless are afraid to lose their jobs.
No, quite the contrary, savvy tech workers dish dirt to their own company and create an opportunity for thelmselves. No one will get a promotion or raise in these times sitting at their desk doing the same job. You must upsell yourself, dishing dirt can work to you advantage if done correctly.
Now you have some good stocks to short ;-)
