My initial draft was edited and I missed the edit changing what I initially wrote about the pricing. Long story short:

Intel Atom with Intel graphics = $25
Intel Atom alone = $45
Nvidia GeForce 9400M = $30 to $35
Nvidia Ion (Atom + 9400M) = $70 to $75

Totally my mistake during the editing process and I appreciate you catching it.

First of all, the ion is $30-35 IN ADDITION to the $45 Atom Chip. The main error is that the author is comparing the Ion/Atom combo to Intel’s Atom and chipset. The Ion setup is worlds beyond the Intel combo which explains why Intel is giving the OEMs a $20 discount to buy the Atom with their crappy chipset. It’s like McDonalds charging $5 for a big mac sandwich but if you buy one with a soda and fries, then you only pay $3.
