OK Big Apple, listen up! You’re all invited to the official consumer launch party of the Nokia N97. I can’t make it on the night of June 25th, so I’m passing along my invite to all of you. That’s yet another reason the web is so great: If I had a paper invite, I could only give it to one of you. Thanks to the Internet, I can invite over 8,000,000 of you with the press of a button. Just shoot an RSVP over to N97Party@ovi.com to get on the list; the only caveats are that you have to be 21 years of age or older and you have to know the secret jkOnTheRun handshake. Well, maybe they’ll let you in without the handshake, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

The party takes place in Marquee at 289 10th Ave and runs from 6pm to 9pm. I’m sure the 6pm bit is accurate, but my gut says the party will last far longer than three hours. Regardless, this is your chance to play with the new Nokia N97 and the Ovi store. Ten lucky folks will actually walk away with an N97, which would cost you near $700 if you bought one. Hmm…maybe I should change my plans that night after all…

A $700.00 plus device, an outdated and clunky OS, through in a resistive touch screen – not expecting big things from the Nokia N97 in the US.

  3. Too bad i live in Singapore…

  4. If I even dared to tried to get in using my real name, I’d be rendered to Guantanamo!!

Solution: I’ll say I’m James Kendrick. LMAO!

No, I wouldn’t go. Stop sweating.
