I have a 2010 MacBook Pro, whose specs are above and beyond the requirements that EA set for the game. Unfortunately, on Mac OS X, the game has a tendency of freezing and stuttering at random moments. I have Boot Camp, so I just ended up installing it on Windows XP. It runs, well, as it was supposed to. I found out that EA didn't even make a proper Mac port; they packaged a Windows compatibility layer with the game, and the Mac's trying to run Windows dependencies at the same time that it's trying to run the game. I can't stand Windows, but it seems that EA are very much a Windows outfit. :/

I have the same thing happen to me. I have a macbook also. It is new (I bought it a month ago) the sims worked for 3.5 weeks then it decides to be difficult. Crashing without warning, glitches and distorted graphics, I am puzzled because I am completely up to requirements etc and I can't seem to get it working properly. I think that it could have something to do with the items downloaded from the exchange area on the sims 3 website. They are full of viruses and advertising (for external object/clothing/hair download sites).

Hey i've got a question um if you played the sims 3 on a macbook pro is it faster then playing it on a pc? like no lags and shorter waiting time that doesn't infuriate you?

and by mood modifying cheats do you mean keeping your sims needs in check so they're happy?
you can just use the cheat: testingCheatsenabled true
and just click then drag the needs up

I'm buying this game today, but I'm really nervous. I have a 2 month old new Macbook, and I'm afraid it won't work. I looked at the requirerments for the game, and since my computer is new, my dad said it should run fine, with no problem. Is anyone having trouble playing with their new Macbook?

Please help me. I bought the Sims 3 and sims 3 ambitions. Now whenever I go on it, some of the pictures are black and its annoying. The furniture is black, the people look like shadows, and sometimes the whole game goes black! Also, I make a lot of familys on the Sims 3. I made one family and I played it for one month! The family got very, very far. All of a sudden, one day I went on the Sims 3 and the game acted like I`ve never put it in before. It wiped out all my family`s and gave me all these tutorials on how to play. I searched solutions on the internet and it seems everybody has these problems. This is very bad because I love the Sims 3 and Sims 3 Ambitions and if it never gets fixed, I will be very mad. Also, does anybody know how I can email the Sims 3 people?
