A company the size of google, that provides 100% "web" services, has no excuse for such an outage. Outages such as happened to "Google" do not happen to everyone. Not everyone supposedly has redundant data centers costing millions of dollars a month spread out all over the world, and not everyone has 1000's of IT network engineers costing another several millions of dollars a month to keep it running.
Outages (such as the Google downtime) happens to everyone... but I am glad they were able to fix the problem. Rather than whine about it, I just want to think of it in a positive way, at least Google will try harder not to make this thing happen again. I believe that some people (or companies) need to make mistakes to learn their lesson.. I just hope that Google is one of them.

When the company I worked for just started, they made a few mistakes... but over the years, they have grown to be the leader in Specialty Retail Turn-key Solutions. (check us out @ LivePOS.com) It just proves that we need to experience failure sometimes (just sometimes!) to be able to grow into something better.
