We’ve found Cisco hardware is an excellent platform to build clouds upon at VMOps. Still, there are enormous benefits to using commodity components for the cloud, instead of getting locked into a single hardware vendor’s vision. Cloud Computing platforms/software, need to focus on supporting broad industry standards around hardware, if service providers are going to be successful as this market heats up.
