sky-map-androidJust in time for the final Hubble Space Telescope house call, the Google Mobile team brings the heavens to Android handhelds. In the Marketplace, you’ll find a free download called Sky Map for Android. Call it a mobile planetarium, because it leverages both the compass and GPS of your Android handset to show you a real-time view of the stars and planets from your location.

Of course, if it’s not cloudy outside, you can see the real stars and planets, but you won’t see labels for each of them, will you? Sky Map will do just that, so you can identify what you’re looking at. And if you want to search for a specific celestial object, of course Sky Map will do that too. It is from Google, after all. ;)
