The link to Echelon allows a mobile phone to be used to control any hose or building, integrate with burglar and fire alarm system.
So, soon you will be able to turn on the heat at your cabin on your way, to let the plumber in at home when he rings the bell. This is how, after everyone has a mobile, they will still be able to buy one more. And network usage flourish, and the payment to the mobile company increase.

Well, since its only a SIM card, once you open your mobile network to consumer standards, then AT&amp;T can do just the same. And the remote control and metering technology is off-the-shelf technology.. The Echelon technology is about as proprietary as nails at Walmart.
