If bands like Metallica, Aerosmith and The Beatles can get special editions of console music rhythm games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band, then so, too, can acts land similar deals on mobile, it seems. Tapulous, maker of Tap Tap Revenge – the most popular iPhone game ever, according to comScore – has released the first band-branded edition of the game with Coldplay.

Tap Tap Revenge: Coldplay Edition includes 11 of the band’s tracks, custom backgrounds matched to albums and a Coldplay news feed for £2.99 in the UK and $4.99 US. The band also teamed with Tapulous for a competition promotion. Tapulous had already done a similar music title, Christmas With Weezer; the main Tap Tap Revenge title already lets players download extra tracks to play – literally. Announcement; video
