First off: I don't think they can pull this off (AT FIRST) with out any hitches. Gamers like myself will accept absolutely no lag. We don't want long loading and saving times. It also seems every single game they have available, I have already beaten, or simply don't want. They have to have today's brand new games. Mass Effect 2 is already old news and it came out 2 months ago. This could be good. I see some potential. I also like owning a console. Its very personal for me. MY CONSOLE. I have my background I want, I have the color console I want. I have my profile. I have my files I downloaded. My games installed. It feels like mine.

If OnLive can pull this off not only will it change the world of gaming, but it will change the world of thin clients as well. Think about how this technology would change the application hosting, the PC market and cloud computing. No longer would you need to buy expensive hardware, just use your cheap netbook and get quad core performance.

I hope I get in on the beta!

I dont think this will pan out due to potential bandwith problems.

BUT, more importantly think of what this would do to the technology wars on both PC's and Consoles. Where would they get their money to develop new tech if no consumers are buying the hardware. Most likely from game development companies who want the latest and greatest stuff to develop on. So the game devs will then seek more revenue to offset the payouts and the money lost from not selling boxed products. So where do THEY get the money? Through huge fees placed on the consumers through the telcom companies for your broadband access and ADVERTISEMENTS. This EA game is brought to you by Pepsi!
