Gameloft (EPA: GFT) has seen revenue rise by 14.8 percent to 110.3 million euros (US$150.7 million) for the full year 2008, and current operating income before stock-based compensation of 3.3 million euros (US$4.5 million), up 13.8 percent year-on-year. This is in line with preliminary figures released earlier. The company has net cash of 10.7 million euros (US$14.6 million). Gameloft notes that 93 percent of annual sales was from mobile games with the rest being made up of console games, and that the company’s own brands generated 61 percent of the downloads last year. Gameloft has 27 iPhone games, of which 16 have been in the top 10 paid game list, and it has sold over 2 million games in the App Store in eight months. It has launched 14 games for Google’s Android.

    So, even with apple and everything else, they are still in the red and not profitable like mentioned last year?

    That's not good and as an investor I would have to really reconsider the small cap investment in the industry. If Gameloft, that has all the help and incentive from the government is not profitable until today ( i have been following them for over 4 years), the small cap players will be out of business soon then?

    Does anyone knows how EA is doing at Apple?
    Their titles are branded and much more popular then gameloft's games in the US, and it will be very interesting to see their numbers.

    Gossip around the industry in Europe says that EA is above the 6 million downloads mark. Can anyone confirm?

    Is apple the way to go for everyone now (small and big)? Is the carrier business in the US a thing of the past? Other players that miss the opportunity with apple are doomed or can they still catch up?
