TI succeeded in the past because if you have the entire solution you can price it a lot better than if you only have OMAP. OMAP is not winning ANY of the smart phones today.

TI never had a good RF CMOS solution. Yet, Silicon Labs who was one of the best and yet they were unable to compete because TI could leverage pricing with a platform offering. I have no doubt this will be the case with Qualcom and ST who will also have their own processors (just as good as OMAP if not better) AND they will be able to offer an entire solution with very good price and even more so IF the cellular maker takes THEIR processor as well. That used to be TI&#039;s own strategy......]]></description>
