In order to qualify for the “Standard Licensing Terms” you need to buy the image. Doing so removes the watermark. By placing a watermarked image here it shows you haven’t paid for $1 image. And you have taken other’s work without payment. It is the equivalent of me posting your articles on my blogs.

It sounds like you were using their free sister site “Stock.xchng” but clicked on a paid image link and didn’t know it.

I see the smiley face, but I don’t want there to be any question on this. From the Stockxpert website, for the image in question:

I believe my usage qualifies in bullet point #1. For the record, you should always check each image’s individual license, as they are not all the same.

As for the watermark, I think it’s great that they advertise their service. It’s a great service:
