Orange has signed a content distribution deal with Fox Mobile Distribution to bring its aggregated and licensed content, including branded Simpsons downloads, to 117 million Orange customers in 30 countries, including the UK, France and territories across EMEA. As part of the deal, Orange customers will have access to apps, games and ringtones developed by Fox Mobile Studios through the Orange World mobile portal. FMD says the deal is part of a wider strategy of “building stronger relationships with mobile operators”, and marks the company’s first big content deal four months after its parent company News Corp bought VeriSign out of their Jamba mobile content company, creating the Fox Mobile Network.

Fox Mobile Group CEO Mauro Montanaro told us last month that the launch of a high-profile US brand for company had been postponed until some point in the first half of 2009 thanks to the volatile economy.
