I have been using Exploratree for about a year, though I do get a few Thinking Guides that don't quite behave as expected using Safari, but it's a very good place to start getting down your thoughts on client problems in a visual manner. I have clients whose native language isn't English (and being English, I'm stereotypically poor at speaking other languages :)) and a good picture often helps promote mutual understanding.

Another "drawing" package that I've got a fair bit of mileage out of is bubble.us; rather good for producing quick decomposition-style diagrams that can be sent to remote client to get the discussion started.

Hope this helps.
