You cannot compare banking with technology for two reasons.

Banks made a clear gamble and lost, now gov't is helping them. That prevents them from learning from their mistakes. When a tech company makes a mistake, they don't get gov't help. If it's a big enough mistake, then they go out of business.

The claim that broadband should be everywhere is a bit ridiculous. It is a difficult problem to solve and requires creativity, ingenuity, and hard word. Bankers on the other hand, gambled on housing prices and lost. In fact, government hinders wireless development with their unfair regulation of frequencies.

We Don't Say Goodbye . . .
The bitter cold nips at my ankles as I stroll along the narrow lane
An early fall, a promise of snow. Maybe it will only be rain.
As the wind makes me shiver I fold my coat 'cross my chest
Of all the seasons why is it that I like winter the best?
'cause that's when I met you oh so long, long ago
I never knew what cold was, your love warmed me so
Your laughter, your faith, your wisdom and inquiring mind
were all the traits in a partner that I'd ever hoped to find.
We are two halves of the whole ... incomplete when we're apart
With shared hopes and dreams; with interlocking hearts
You've gone on before me, but I know that you are near
Lingering 'til I join you, where you're waiting for me there.
It's winter now, my dear, this season of my age
Life's a wonderful book and I'll soon turn the last page.
Soon my spirit will lift and then toward you I'll fly
To continue our journey forever. We don't say goodbye.

Om, I would say rather that in 2008, all the underlying truth about the pre-existing mediocrity surfaced. It was all hidden by unethical marketing, posturing, incestuous Corpocracy and Politics and Mass Media connections.

The whole Western model of modern society has collapsed because it is corrupt, and not based on sustainable values.

The shift of the balance of power is going to the middle east and to the east.

Best,
