IOGEAR has a nice little mobile hub hitting product shelves today. The GUH276 is great for on the go usage as it’s small and versatile. It acts as a three-port USB 2.0 hub, which can be handy if you run out free USB ports, or if your device doesn’t offer too many to begin with. The three ports are on the top of the GUH276 and are aligned so that plugging one device in doesn’t block any other port. You can also charge or synchronize a phone or other device off the end of the unit thanks to a mini-USB connector. The GUH276 is light enough to carry on the go since it weighs just 45 grams. Plus it won’t take up too much space due to the 3.58 x .71 x 1.97 size. Small, light and it’s even inexpensive at an MSRP of $12.95. It doesn’t require its own power supply, but since it draws juice from a host machine, IOGEAR says you need to keep the total device power consumption at or under 350 mA, making this hub better suited for connectivity and expansion.

  1. If you were to carry around one USB hub, would this be it? I have an HP 2710p and am not a fan of one USB port on the opposite side from the other, but I was also thinking about a slim portable USB CD/DVD drive (USB powered using 2 ports), would this do the trick?
