We just launched a virtual goods marketplace for sports fans at http://www.oneseason.com. It would be interesting to see/hear the directions others are taking with virtual economies as well as how they are dealing/responding with some of the challenges in relation to providing a transparent, fair market.
I would like to attend the Virtual Goods (VG) Summit to further my understanding of ways to monetize without the sole reliance on ad revenue. I believe that the easy cash ad revenues have offered since its inception has thwarted the development of novel ways to monetize in online ventures. VG have emerged as a promising alternative especially for Virtual Worlds (VW)/Social Networks which try to honor style, decency, safety, and relevance over ad intrusion, ad irrelevance, layout crowdedness, and redundancy.
I expect to learn how to implement VG in my VW, what metrics to rely on to measure growth and virality, and, most importantly, to network.
I hope to see you there
Rgs,
We have chosen our ticket winner. See you at the conference!
