DCD Media, the UK-based group specializing in the production and distribution of entertainment and music programming, had taken a 19.9 percent stake in a new online broadcasting venture, Classical TV, in return for giving internet streaming rights to 1,100 hours of its performing arts content. CTVL, which has been funded by an unnamed international private equity backer, has also paid DCD £1.8m ($3.25m), for the rights to the programming, reports C21.

CTVL will launch in the next few weeks, and will offer online viewers ad and sponsorship-supported streamed programming, as well as subscription-based and pay-per-view content. More details in release.
