Her full review is forthcoming, but I like what I see already: a beautiful 13.3-inch display that is outdoor viewable. At 4.9-pounds, the unit is a little heavy for my tastes, but I’m one of those that can do without the integrated optical drive. Shedding that saves a half-pound, which is helpful if you plan to use the unit in slate mode for long lengths of time. I also like the bi-directional swivel hinge; I’ve nearly broken a screen off in the past on convertible tablets!

I don’t anticipate the T5010 to slouch in the performance department based on some of these specs: Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.4 GHz, 2 GB RAM (expandable to 4 GB) and 160 GB 5200 RPM drive running Microsoft Windows Vista Business. I still can’t get over how nice that screen looks for a Tablet PC: check the Michael Phelps wallpaper that Linda is using… wow!
