Well of course they’d say that, because most of eBay’s platform strategy since we opened the platform in 2003 has been oriented toward seller optimization — which is very bad news for high-volume incumbent sellers, but generally good for the marketplace (and, by extension, for buyers). The fact is that buyer discoverability is not and has not ever been eBay’s biggest problem — if the goods are there, buyers generally find them, although perhaps not at the price that a particular high-volume seller might prefer.
