It is going to be an interesting developent. As mobile broadband via 3G is now really taking off in several countries speeds will start to move in different directions. Fixed connections get faster and faster, but more and more people are swiching to 3G for lots of their internet activity. And even if the advertised speed is 7,1 - 21,3 Mbit, most people will not be close to those numbers.

By the way, the mobile operators in Sweden are basically giving 3G mobile broadband subscriptions away at the moment. No entry fees and 6 months of free or very cheap prices. They all want to grab market share. And as summer approaches and people start spending time in their summer houses and boats, there will be a natural demand.
