Facebook: Elliot Schrage has left his post as VP of global communications and public affairs at Google (NSDQ: GOOG) to join Facebook as its VP of communications and public policy, reports Kara Swisher at AllThingsD. Schrage will report to COO Sheryl Sandberg, another former Google exec. Schrage joins other ex-Googlers at the social networking site, including director of platform product marketing Ben Ling and business development director Ethan Beard.

NetShelter Technology Media: Media veteran Patrick Houston has been tapped for the new position of SVP of media and chief publisher.
