PS: It is not "Walah!", but "voilà!"---it's a french expression.

I am a dad-at-home entrepreneur and think your post is right on.

My hardest challenge has been problem solving for my business, but I just finished a book that has helped, Jack’s Notebook by Gregg Fraley. It is a “business fable” which made it easy to read — a fun story that subtly weaves in principles on creative problem solving as the plot unfolds. Very palatable to read!

It has taught me a fundamental business skill, creative thinking — and we all need this no matter what business we’re in. It also teaches how to cope with fear by working through issues in a deliberately creative way.

Hope it helps you and other entrepreneurs out there as much as it has me.

Thanks for a great post. I will definitely make use of the lessons and share this post with more people. I have traditionally looked at the Craigslist model of how to do well with "free" and it is good to see this model since it fits a wider range of businesses.

Great post! I think this revenue model is certainly a great opportunity for entrepreneurs that know how to get into the boot-strap/low overhead/niche sectors of their industries. It requires a little more patience, but the possible pay-off may be worth it - rather than hopping straight into the "build the widget and go to market right away" strategy.
