In the early days of automobiles you had to be half mechanic/half driver. If you did not know how the car worked, you were likely to end up broken down somewhere. Now we drive cars, that few of us really understand all the components of. The underlying technology has become more complex, but the driving experience much easier.

As Internet technology grows, ease of use and the ability to create without technical knowledge will increase.
