Written info can never convey the superior architecture that Vidyo has developed.

Imagine a 1U router scaling up to 100 HD multipoint ports. Imagine running your videoconferences over unmanaged networks like public Internet without impacting the video quality. The quality is impressive and the latency aspect that annoys us during a video call is now history. The delay is just imperceptible comparable to talking on the phone. As for the pricing, if you have purchased VC solutions in the near future, you may regret the purchase.

Vidyo will leave its mark on the billion dollar videoconferencing industry, how the other vendors like Polycom or Tandberg copes up remains to be seen.

I think that this news is great ... usually the video and sound stutters because of the enormous amount of data the network has to transport. Hopefully, this technology by this new start up will solve some of the encoding and decoding issues which always causes delays in video and sound transmissions over great distances.

The current Internet is almost taxed to its limits .. hopefully someone will come out with specialized routers like this to ease high bandwidth usage.
