Qualcomm (NSDQ: QCOM) filed a proxy statement yesterday with SEC which has some details on the investment it did in its mobile TV service MediaFlo in 2007, and the losses associated with it. In U.S., so far it has only rolled out with Verizon Wireless (NYSE: VZ), and AT&T (NYSE: T) rollout is expected sometime soon (delayed from late last year).

Its QSI segment, which includes MediaFlo as part of its activities, had loss before taxes for fiscal 2007 of $240 million, compared to $133 million for fiscal 2006. “This included a $118 million increase in our MediaFLO USA subsidiary

  2. Josh, Qualcomm calls it is Qualcomm Strategic Initiatives (QSI) segment….so it is QSI, not QIS.
