Taiwan has broadband everywhere

With the exception of one town and one village, high speed Internet access is available everywhere in Taiwan. According to Point-Topic, Taiwan had 4.6 million broadband subscribers at the end of Q3 2007.

  • I wonder if this is a wireless deployment? That is probably the quickest way to deploy. If we take a page out the cellular book, where some countries skipped the landline phase almost completely and went straight to cell, will the same thing happen with broadband?

  • Chris, sorry about the paid subscription part. This came off a news alert from Google. Try searching there. There was just two paragraphs. I basically made it even shorter.

  • I am one of the beneficiaries of Taiwan broadband living here now for 20 years. Most is land line but there are wifi and coming wimax systems.I need to re-evaluate my isp and see which one has the best package for me now.
