Prediction: Citigroup analyst will be fired and there will be a lawsuit against Citigroup for irresponsible research. This was a pretty egregious act on Citi's part. There is a lot of blame to be laid at Etrade's feet as one has to wonder what in god's name led them to believe they could invest in MBS' more efficiently than the world's largest hedge funds. Further proof that those at the top are often wearing the emperor's new clothes....

The Citigroup analysts post was highly irresponsible. It is also a conflict of interest as Citigroup and ETrade are potential competitors. Maybe an ETrade analyst should comment that the mortgage market is recovering and Citigroup has a 10% chance of going bankrupt. And that analyst has a 50% chance of getting fired. http://fishtrain.com/2007/11/12/etrade/

When I read this news on the Internet, I shot up to the nearest ATM and withdraw all my money out of the bank..

I wonder what will happen! If you look at the history of their stocks, it does fluctuate. The last big fluctuation was at 2003.

I hope they won't bankrupt.. I'm 100% supporting them, they have good financial services *(at least it's good for me)
